PIXEL

The concept of pixel has its origin in the English word pixel and arose as an acronym between the terms pix (colloquial expression referring to picture, “image”) and element (translated into Spanish as “element”). The notion is used in the computer field to indicate the smallest homogeneous surface that is part of an image. The pixel, therefore, can be defined as the smallest of the homogeneous units in color that make up an image of digital type. By enlarging one of these images through a zoom, it is possible to observe the pixels that allow the creation of the image. Before the eyes, they appear as small squares or rectangles in white, black or shades of gray.

VIDEOMAPPING

Technique consisting of projecting images on real surfaces, generally inanimate, to achieve movement effects or 3D resulting in an unusual artistic spectacle. *2

Video mapping is the projection of a video on a surface causing it to interact with it giving it a three-dimensional sensation and that some kind of action is being developed. It can be accompanied by music, lights or pyrotechnics. *3

It consists in projecting or displaying an animation or images on real, normally inanimate surfaces, in order to achieve an artistic and unusual effect based on the movements created by the animation on said surface. The most common mapping is the one we see on monumental buildings accompanied by sounds to make a greater spectacle. In this way, interaction with the public is allowed and a relationship between art, technology and society is created. *4
